Sony launches new bluetooth headphone range

Sony have launched two new additions to their bluetooth headphone range this week. Both the DR-BT100CX (in-ear style) and DR-BT101 (overhead style) feature Sony’s noise cancelling technology which we were able to recently test out in their superbly comfortable MDR-XB700.

But unlike the MDR-XB700, bluetooth headphones as you can imagine are wire-free, much more convenient to use and to put away when not needed. Additionally, both the DR-BT100CX and DR-BT101 will offer up to 12 hours of wireless play time before another recharge via USB.

Motorola QA4 Evoke - touchscreen slider phone

Motorola has announced the launch of a new mobile phone - QA4 Evoke. Similar to a number of phones including the iPhone, Palm Pre, BlackBerry Storm, etc, it has a full touchscreen but also with a sliding keypad. It seems that the mobile phone maker is taking into account want we all like to see - a physical keyboard.

Apple iPhone firmware OS 3.0 event announced - March 17

Some exciting news today folks, Apple have just announced that a special event will be held on March 17 (in just five days!) at 10am PST (1pm EST). Its expected that Apple will be showing off the latest version of the iPhone OS firmware version 3.0 along with a brand new updated SDK (software development kit).

So far, the news has been that MMS will finally be coming to the iPhone, in addition tethering via bluetooth and USB have also been suggested! I’m sure there will be many more to be revealed on that day, its now just a matter of how much info gets leaked. We expect to see something exciting with this new version of OS, wonder what Apple has in store for everyone!?

Apple unveils latest updated iMacs, slightly cheaper prices too…

It’s Tuesday, Apple’s favourite and prolly only day of the week in which they tend to launch new and latest upcoming products. Today they again temporaily closed down their online store in order to update a new line up of iMacs and also the much rumored Mac Mini. So let’s first take a look at the new updated iMacs. The latest 20-inch iMac features a 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor (Apple previously offered both a 2.4GHz and 2.66GHz configuration), 2GB of 1066 MHz DDR3 memory (with a new maximum of 8GB for all iMac models), a 320GB Serial ATA hard drive, and Nvidia GeForce 9400M integrated graphics with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory (previous 20-inch models had discrete ATI Radeon graphics).


The 24-inch model comes in 2.66GHz, 2.93GHz, and 3.06GHz Core 2 Duo configurations (compared to 2.8GHz and 3.06GHz in the previous generation), and with 4GB of 1066 MHz DDR3 memory (twice the amount included before), and a 640GB or 1TB Serial ATA hard drive. The 2.66GHz model has the same Nvidia GeForce 9400M integrated graphics as the 20-inch model, the 2.93GHz model uses the discrete GeForce GT 120 with 256MB of GDDR3 memory, and the 3.06GHz model uses the discrete GeForce GT 130 with 512MB of GDDR3 memory (you can also configure the top two models with the ATI Radeon HD 4850 discrete graphics processor, with 512MB of memory).
All iMac models come with a glossy display with a built-in iSight video camera, a mic, and speakers. The new iMac also includes Apple’s Mini DisplayPort connector, built-in AirPort Extreme 802.11n, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, Gigabit Ethernet, a total of six USB 2.0 ports (including two on the Apple Keyboard), and one FireWire 800 port.

The new iMacs are available immediately and cost $1,199 for the 20-inch model and starting at $1,499 for the 24-inch model.

The new iMac exceeds Energy Star 4.0 requirements and is an early adopter in the industry for Energy Star 5.0 compliance. The iMac enclosure is made of recyclable aluminum and the interior is designed to be more material-efficient. The iMac uses PVC-free internal cables and components, and contains no brominated flame retardants.

LG GD900 Crystal with transparent keyboard

The LG GD900 Crystal which LG debuted at the GSMA World Congress, will be the world’s first phone with a transparent design handset. Not everything on the slider handset is transparent but the rear slider is translucent and the keypad gives off a brilliant glittering glow. Specs on technical details on the LG GD900 was limited, but LG will make sure to bring out the specs for review later this year.Expect the LG GD900 clear handset phone to show up in stores sometime in the third quarter of 2009. When the phone gets opened, it will be sure to attract everyone’s attention, since a light will illuminate the transparent keyboard, watch the video below and see how it works.According to the manufacturer, the device will not be just a fashion accessory (I’m sure that’s what you are thinking right now ), but will also incorporate high-tech features and will come with a bluetooth headset which will be just as impressive!
